“We don’t know how to pose, help!” I got you! Trust me, I hear this from majority of my couples, and it’s totally normal! I’ll be here walking you through each pose. My goal is bring out the true emotion between the both of you. We won’t do too much staged posing but we will get those too. I may even make you tickle each other or run around a few times

What do we wear? I always suggest two things for clothing. Material that does not wrinkle easily and colors that compliment each other. You don’t have to match colors but find colors that vibe well together. I always suggest muted, earthy colored-tones and it’s best to avoid clothing that appears too trendy, anything with large patterns or colors that are super contrasty. Try not to wear your clothes during the ride to the location to prevent wrinkling. Depending on location, wear appropriate shoes. I wouldn’t want you wearing heels at the beach or while were taking a hike on a trail!

How do we make sure we look our best? Make sure to make time to clean your engagement ring to have it as sparkly as ever. Try to be moisturized (both men and women!) by bringing lotion and chapstick for your shoot. For my beautiful ladies, I always recommend doing your bridal makeup trial run the day of your engagement shoot to see how your makeup will photograph. Getting your nails done helps too since we will do close-ups of your hands to show off that ring. For my gentlemen, getting a fresh haircut and trimming that beard will make you look like you came out of a GQ magazine.

Can we bring props? Absolutely! Cute picnic blankets, DIY signs, streamers/poppers, balloons, colored smoke bombs, food/drinks (that bubbly champagne), you can even bring your fur babies! Make sure you bring lotion and chapstick to have moisturized skin throughout the shoot. Don’t forget to bring your engagement ring too!
Beverly & Jon’s Tropical Inspired Laguna Beach Engagement Session – 50 First Dates or BUST!
When is the best time to shoot? SUNSET! Since the sun dictates our time together, it’s extremely important to begin our session on time so I can provide you with the full experience. Should you run late, I’m happy to accommodate, but please know our time together will be limited. I kindly ask that we all prepare to arrive ahead of the scheduled time so we can begin on time. We all know SoCal traffic can get pretty crazy or we can even get lost. If the session does not start after 15 minutes of the scheduled shoot time, I will have to re-schedule the session and may charge a $50.00 re-scheduling fee

Where is a good engagement session location? I have an engagement session location suggestion guide based on where I have photographed before but I am always open to new locations! Perhaps some place that has significant meaning to your relationship, like where you two met or maybe even where you two attended college. The location also sets the mood of your session, so if your’e going after a specific theme, let’s choose a location that compliments that! Also let me know if you have specific places in mind at the location that you would like to focus on.
